Abstract:
A structural member 100 extends in a lengthwise direction L and is obtained by joining a first member 110 which is a steel sheet and a second member 120 which is a steel sheet to one another. The first member 110 and the second member 120 form a closed cross-sectional shape in a structural member 100 cross-section which is perpendicular to the lengthwise direction L. The first member 110 has a first hemmed section 111 which has a tensile strength of 980MPa or higher and has been subjected to steel sheet hemming at both end sections thereof in the widthwise direction W, which is perpendicular to the lengthwise direction L. The second member 120 has a second joining target section 122a which has a tensile strength of 980MPa or higher, is sandwiched by the first hemmed section 111 at both end sections thereof in the widthwise direction W, and is adhered by an adhesive 130 to the first hemmed section 111.
