The present invention relates to a subway door safety monitoring system based on a video light curtain. The subway door safety monitoring system based on a video light curtain comprises a subway door, a control centre, a display screen and gratings mounted at two sides of the subway door, a panoramic camera mounted at a top end of the subway door, and photosensitive sensors mounted at opposite corners of an upper end of the subway door, wherein the control centre comprises a positioning system, a contrasting system, an opening and closing system and a storage device; the display screen is a high-definition LED display screen; the number of panoramic cameras is 1 or 2; the storage device is a storage card or a storage hard disk; and the display screen displays the condition of each subway door, and a contrast image. The present invention can monitor a subway door well, can prevent closing of the door in a timely manner in the case of abnormity, can carry out positioning in a timely manner to make processing faster, also improves the transport efficiency of a subway and further enhances the safety in taking the subway.
