Disclosed is a supercharger 1 equipped with: a compressor wheel 6 that is provided so as to be capable of rotating around an axis line O1, and that is for compressing air A by rotating; a compressor housing 10 for housing the compressor wheel 6 in a rotatable manner; at least one airfoil plate 23 provided in a suction portion 15 of the compressor housing 10; and at least one support member 22 configured so as to support the airfoil plate 23 on an inner circumferential surface 15a of the suction portion 15 such that the position of the airfoil plate 23 relative to the inner circumferential surface 15a of the suction portion 15 can change in accordance with the magnitude of the lift force acting on the airfoil plate 23. By means of the disclosed supercharger 1 configured in this manner the flow rate of the air (intake air) A can be adjusted by using the fluid force of the air A supplied from the compressor wheel 6 to change the position of the airfoil plate 23, the flow rate of the intake air can be adjusted without requiring an external drive device, and the operation range of a compressor 5 can be expanded suitably.
