Abstract:
The present invention displays, in an information processing device that has an OS-standard general-use printing program incorporated therein, information pertaining to the permissibility of printing settings. An assistance program 42 which corresponds to a printer 2 connected to a PC 1 and supports a general-use printing program 41 incorporated in advance in an OS 21 of the PC 1 is incorporated in the PC 1. The general-use printing program 41 is capable of handling data for displaying a printing settings screen D2 on a display 13a of the PC 1. In the PC 1, an information application 43 uses the general-use printing program 41 to display the printing settings screen D2 on the display 13a, and the assistance program 42 determines the suitability of a combination of printing settings changed on the printing settings screen D2. When it is determined that the changed printing settings are of an unsuitable combination, notification data which indicates that the printing settings are unsuitable is generated, and the generated notification data is displayed on the printing settings screen D2.
