Abstract:
In the present invention, in an information processing device in which an OS standard general-purpose printing program is incorporated, information based on paper characteristics obtained from a printer is displayed. An auxiliary program 42 is incorporated into a PC 1, the auxiliary program supporting a printer 2 connected to the PC 1 and supporting a general-purpose printing program 41 incorporated in advance into an OS 21 of the PC 1. The auxiliary program 42: acquires, from the printer 2, main unit information relating to paper characteristics stored for each paper feed; and if print settings are changed on a print setting screen D2 displayed on a display 13a using the general-purpose printing program 41, acquires the changed print settings from the general-purpose print program 41. The auxiliary program 42 generates, on the basis of the main body information acquired from the printer 2, notification data containing paper information indicating feed tray paper characteristics set in the changed print settings, transfers the notification data to the general-purpose printing program 41, and displays the notification data to the print setting screen D2.
