Abstract:
Provided is a surface acoustic wave device wherein it is possible to adjust the band width without connecting an additional capacitance and the propagation loss is sufficiently low. A surface acoustic wave device (1) wherein multiple surface acoustic wave elements (2, 3) are formed using a piezoelectric body (4) having the same cut angle, the propagation direction (X1) of the surface acoustic waves of at least one of the surface acoustic wave elements (2) is different from the propagation direction (X2) of the surface acoustic waves of the other surface acoustic wave element (3), and a confinement layer (12) for confining the surface acoustic waves on the side of the piezoelectric body (4) is formed on the surface of the surface acoustic wave elements (2, 3) that is on the opposite side of the electrode formation surface of the piezoelectric body (4).
