Abstract:
Disclosed is a surface mounting electronic component that is equipped with an element, an anode terminal, a cathode terminal, and an outer casing. The component is provided with an anode and a cathode that is formed upon a part of the surface of the anode through a dielectric. The anode terminal is electrically connected to the anode, and the cathode terminal is electrically connected to the cathode. The outer casing covers the element layered body in a manner such that a part of the anode terminal and the cathode terminal are exposed. The outer casing is formed from a norbornene resin. As a result, a highly reliable electronic component can be realized.
