Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a novel surface treatment agent capable of forming a film having excellent corrosion resistance and coating adhesiveness on the surface of a metal material, a surface treatment method for forming a film on the surface of the metal material using the surface treatment agent, and a surface-treated metal material having a film formed by said method on the surface. [Structure] The problem can be solved by a surface treatment agent having a pH of 2-6 and containing at least one species of an anionic fluoroferrite (III) complex compound ion (A) represented by the formula (I): FeFn[H2O]mXi
-(n-3) (I) (where 3 < n ≦ 6, 0 ≦ m < 3, I = [6 - (n + m)]/Z, i ≧ 0, X is a ligand capable of ligation to iron, and Z is the number of conformations of the ligand X).
