Abstract:
The present invention relates to a surge arrester-resistive leakage current detection device and detection method, which can measure only the leakage current of a surge arrester without measuring a voltage so as to calculate a resistive leakage current component included in the leakage current, in order to compensate for the shortcomings of a method having been used to measure the leakage current of a conventional metal-oxide surge arrester (MOSA). The method comprises: a reference point search step (S20) of selecting a reference point by performing pattern analysis on the basis of a characteristic pattern expressed in the total leakage current (IT) when an applied voltage is 0 V; a resistive leakage current calculation step (S30) of calculating resistive leakage current (IR) by expanding the total leakage current (IT) starting at the reference point to a Fourier series; and reference point verification/correction steps (S40, S41) of re-calculating the resistive leakage current (IR) by correcting the reference point until the characteristic pattern of the resistive leakage current (IR) according to the nonlinear resistance characteristic of the surge arrester (1) is shown, wherein the resistive leakage current (IR) calculated by the corrected reference point is determined as the resistive leakage current of the surge arrester (1).
