Abstract:
A shock absorber comprises: an inner cylinder electrode in which electrorheological fluid is sealed; a piston which is slidably inserted in the inner cylinder electrode; and a relief valve which is provided to the piston and relieves the actual damping force to a desired value. A controller has a command value calculation unit that calculates a high voltage command value to be output to the shock absorber on the basis of the detection values output from a sprung acceleration sensor and an unsprung acceleration sensor. The electrorheological fluid has a characteristic that the actual damping force value output by the command value output from the command value calculation unit of the controller is higher at low temperature than at high temperature. The relief valve and the high voltage command value are set on the basis of the actual damping force value at high temperature.
