Abstract:
[Problem] To protect a switch or a device on an electric path to which a switch is connected from overheating by an occurrence of an arc, and prevent burn accidents on the electric path to which the switch is connected. [Solution] A switch, comprising a power supply-side terminal which is connected to a DC power supply, and a load-side terminal to which power from the DC power supply is outputted, further comprises: contact points which are inserted in the electric path which connects the power supply-side terminal and the load-side terminal, and which open and close the electric path between the DC power supply and the load; an arc detection circuit which outputs an arc detection signal when an arc discharge which is detected over the electric path is sustained for a prescribed time; and a trip unit, which opens the contact points when the arc detection signal is generated.
