Title:
SWITCHING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/167800
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a light signal switching unit by which it is possible to reduce the area necessary for the installation thereof and reduce manufacturing cost, and also to provide a switching device provided with the light signal switching unit. A switching unit (30) according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided with two light switching arrays (34a, 34b) disposed on a substrate in parallel with each other while facing opposite directions. The two light switching arrays extend along a chip surface, each of the two light switching arrays having four light switches (31) arranged in parallel with each other. By such a configuration, one light switching array is disposed in the space left over by the other light switching array, which allows the size of the switching unit to be reduced.
