Title:
SYMBOL-DETERMINING DEVICE AND SYMBOL DETERMINATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/142912
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A symbol-determining device of an embodiment is provided with: a transmission-line-shortening unit for multiplying the tap gain of a linear digital filter for each symbol value in some of symbol sequences of an input signal and outputting a symbol sequence that indicates the sum of each multiplied value; a transmission line estimation unit for estimating, using an adaptive nonlinear digital filter, the transfer function of a transmission line on the basis of a symbol sequence that indicates the state of the transmission line; an addition-comparison processing unit for calculating the minimum value of a distance function in a Viterbi algorithm on the basis of metrics calculated on the basis of the output of the transmission-line-shortening unit and the transfer function; and a path backtracing determination unit for tracing back the path of trellis in the Viterbi algorithm on the basis of the minimum value of the distance function and thereby making symbol determination.
