Abstract:
In order to allow a programmable logic controller which executes a high-level-language program to easily communicate with an existing peripheral apparatus, this symbol table generation method includes: a step (S501) for reading the high-level-language program and a relational table defining relationships between devices controlled by the programmable logic controller and variable names within the high-level-language program; a step for compiling and linking the high-level-language program and the relational table in order to assess the physical addresses of each of the variable names and the corresponding devices; a step (S502) for generating the symbol table defining the physical addresses which have been assessed with respect to each of the devices by way of the compiling and the linking; and a step (S503) for storing the symbol table into memory of the programmable logic controller.
