Description:
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CREATING INTERACTIVE ELECTRONIC BOOKS OVER A NETWORK

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A. Technical field

[0001] The present invention generally relates to a system and method for creating e- books over a network. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system and method for enabling a user or an author to create e-books over a network and also enable to publish and sell their created e-books on the platform and upload their e-books into a library to make it available for readers or customers.

B. Description of related art

[0002] An electronic book also known as an e-book or digital book, is a book publication made available in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, readable on the flat-panel display of computers or other electronic devices. E-books can be read on dedicated e-reader devices, but also on any computer device that features a controllable viewing screen, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Many people are transitioning from reading physical books to reading digital book, which have many advantages over physical books, such as more portability, the ability to access the digital book from multiple electronic devices, and text search capability. In addition, digital books are also easier to purchase and are perceived as environmentally-friendly. A variety of devices run e-book reader applications.

[0003] Few existing patent references attempted to address the problems cited in the background as prior art over the presently disclosed subject matter and are explained as follows.

[0004] A prior art US10409462B2 assigned to Gentile Antonio., discloses about a computerized system for creating interactive electronic books over a network, comprising an effects library module including a plurality of interactive effects wizard modules that automate code generation for customized interactive effects in electronic books, a first database module including a relational database stored in a memory device that stores information associated with electronic book generation including information related to selected interactive effects wizard modules, a database federation module including a processor functionally coupled between the first database and the second database such that changes to one of the first and second databases are automatically updated in the other and a user interface module functionally coupled to each of the effects library module and the first database module such that a user may selectably manipulate the same in creation of an electronic book and including a network module including a network communication device over a network. Content may be interactive and may be provided by the user/author in collaboration with one or more collaborators, such as to developers, designers, editors, other authors, critics, readers and the like. The system may be designed as software as a service (SaaS) in which software and associated data are centrally hosted on the cloud.

[0005] Another prior art WO2015183195A1 assigned to Djoko Herman Prajitno., discloses about the digital book system which consists of a book which consists of Book code which functions as authentication and also special identification which signifies the book. Web server which has the following functions: Authentication to authenticate during the first time the application is run, Registration which functions to create username and password that user can use this application for, Online book reader to read the book via internet, Cloud storage which is used to store book data of each user, therefore the user will not lose their data although they change their device until a certain period of time, Backend server which is the brain of automation process. Online Book Reader is to be readable in mobile device, this online book can also be read by using computer (notebook/desktop) by their web, and this web is used to set additional features such as book share.

[0006] However, the existing systems and applications lack to enable the users or authors to sell their created e-books through the network and also provide limited features so the user or author may face difficulties to publish and sell their created e-books on the platform and upload their e-books into a library to make it available to readers or customers.

[0007] In light of the above-mentioned problems, it would be highly desirable to provide a system and method for enabling a user or an author to create e-books over a network. Further, there is also a need to provide a system for providing more services and features that enable the author or user to simply publish and sell their created e-books on the platform and upload their e-books into a library to make it available to readers or customers. The system may allow the user to access sales data and money generated by selling the created e-books on the platform. The system may also enable the user to integrate a cloud reader into an existing website via an integrations module to access the cloud-reader e-book on the customer's website and be able to make a payment and read the e-book online and/or on the cloud reader.
