Abstract:
A system and a method for pumping redundancy protection, wherein the system includes: first path fiber (501), second path fiber (502), first pumping laser (503) and second pumping laser (504), the first path fiber (501) includes: first erbium doped fiber (509), first fiber splitter (505), and first wavelength division multiplexer (506), and the second path fiber (502) includes: second erbium doped fiber (510), second fiber splitter (507), and second wavelength division multiplexer (508). The method includes: splitting first pumping laser to first split pumping laser and second split pumping laser that are respectively input to erbium doped fibers in two path fibers (1001); splitting second pumping laser to third split pumping laser and fourth split pumping laser that are respectively input to erbium doped fibers in two path fibers (1002). The invention realizes pumping redundancy protection and improves the reliability of fiber amplification system by arranging fiber splitters and wavelength division multiplexers in two path fibers reasonably and making two path pumping lasers be redundant to each other.
