Abstract:
The present invention is a comparison/search system that has: a first imaging means that obtains an image of a product which includes at least a reference site, the reference site being a prescribed site formed with the same pattern with respect to the product; a product characteristic extraction means that detects the reference site on the product from the image obtained with the first imaging means, and that extracts the image characteristic of the product at a comparison region, this comparison region being a concave part of the product existing at a fixed position relative to the detected reference site; a storage means that stores the extracted image characteristic of the comparison region of the product; a second imaging means that obtains an image which includes at least the aforementioned reference site on a product being compared; a comparison-subject product characteristic extraction means that detects the reference site on the product being compared from the image obtained with the second imaging means, and that extracts the image characteristic of the comparison region of the detected reference site; and a comparison/search means that compares the stored image characteristic and the image characteristic of the comparison region of the product being compared.
