Abstract:
The present invention is a comparison/search system that has: a first imaging means that obtains an image which includes at least a reference site that exists in common on products and a prescribed comparison region of the product that is set in advance at a relative position with the reference site as a reference; a product characteristic extraction means that detects the reference site from the image obtained with the first imaging means, and that extracts the image characteristic of the aforementioned comparison region, with the detected reference site as a reference; a storage means that stores the extracted image characteristic of the comparison region of the product; a second imaging means that obtains an image which includes at least the aforementioned reference site on a product being compared and the prescribed comparison region of the product, with the reference site as a reference; a comparison subject product characteristic extraction means that detects the reference site on the product being compared from the image obtained with the second imaging means, and that extracts the image characteristic of the comparison region for which the reference site is a reference; and a comparison means that compares the stored image characteristic and the image characteristic of the comparison region of the product being compared.
