Description:
A SYSTEM WHICH COMPRISES A LUMINOUS AND/OR AUDIO WARNING SIGNAL WHICH INFORMS OTHER VEHICLE DRIVERS, THAT THE DOORS WILL BE OPENING AND/OR THAT THE DOORS ARE OPEN IN ROAD VEHICLES

Technical Field

The invention is a system which comprises a light and/or audio warning signal which informs to other vehicles drivers that the doors will be opening and/or that the doors are open to other vehicle drivers; wherein the system comprises a light and/or audio warning signal which enables other vehicle drivers, bicycle riders and pedestrians behind said vehicle that the doors of the vehicle will be opening and/or are open following the opening of the door from inside the vehicle using a handle; or by sending a command to automatically open the door from the inside and/or outside of the vehicle in road vehicles that are operated with an engine, with electricity and/or other physical power.

Prior Art

Each day, thousands of people use automobiles, bicycles, busses, mini-busses, the metrobus, metro, taxi, shuttle vehicles etc in order to travel to work, school and/or for social activities. If we keep in mind that millions of people in metropolitan cities are involved in traffic and are travelling every day, it is obvious that traffic accidents will become inevitable. The reason for 98% of the traffic accidents are accepted to be arising from human factors. Due to the lack of attention of the drivers, pedestrians and/or passengers or reasons that lead to distraction lives are lost and/or material damage is incurred.

Many products have been developed and systems have been established in order to prevent or at least minimize accidents and therefore loss of lives/ material damage that are caused due to violation of traffic rules, not being able to adapt the vehicle speed according to road, air and traffic conditions, blind spots, carelessness or reflexes caused by being in a hurry.

One of the systems that are used in order to prevent accidents is the lighting system inside door handles that lights up when the doors are opened in some models of motor, electric vehicles present in the market. However, these lighting systems enable to see door handles of the vehicle from the outside in dark environments, and to see the floor when entering the vehicle or getting out of the vehicle. These systems do not have the function to warn that the door will be opening and/or that the door is open in the day time-night time, light-dark environments to motor, electric road vehicle, motorcycle, bicycle and other vehicle riders/d rivers who are behind a vehicle or who are passing a vehicle, who do not know if a door will be opened or not.

One other example product is the red rear light called reflector. These reflect the light received in order to catch the attention of the drivers coming from the opposite direction, and they are used generally to catch the attention of vehicle drivers, bicycle riders, passengers or pedestrians. However, in order for reflectors to be useful, there needs to be an accident, or a light should be present so that the light is reflected by the reflector. These reflectors that are to be used at night time, or in dark places such as tunnels are not sufficient to establish a safety zone to provide adequate warning. Moreover, they are easily damaged due to environmental factors such as dust, rain, mud and sunshine and/or they are rendered functionless.

These types of products may not be distinguished due to darkness, rainy weather or dirt. The drivers need to have their high beam on in order to be able to distinguish these types of products. However high beam cannot be used all the time as it will endanger the life of the drivers coming from the opposite direction.

An application used in the present art in order to prevent traffic accidents are the mock-up models of police cars and/or traffic police that are placed at the sides of roads. The drivers are able to see these models from hundreds of meters as they have been built to have the standard sizes of vehicles or traffic police, and they reduce their speed and as a result accident rates are decreased. However, this application is a limited application which can be used in limited areas, and which prevents accidents arising due to excessive speed.

In the safety zones that have been provided in order to warn other drivers following an accident, products such as caution strips, warning cones, and warning signs are used. These products are positioned around the vehicles at a safe distance after an accident by either the drivers or passengers of vehicles. Although they may be adequate to warn other drivers in accidents that have been done in the daytime, these types of products are inadequate for accidents at night time.

An invention of the prior art, is the utility model numbered 2016/03521 , titled“igten Aydinlatmah Trafik ikaz Orunleri (Traffic warning products with internal lighting)”. The invention is related to LED lighting of traffic warning products that have been positioned as bollards, delineators, cones or posts in order to catch the attention of drivers in the day time and night time, by the collection of power on a battery, and collection of solar power or daylight on solar panels, and converting the energy by means of the control panel and other means into electricity and distributing thereof, in order to warn, to enable reduction of speed in city roads and expressways and to define parking spaces of vehicles at roadsides, pavements, and in the car parks of places such as workplaces, markets, hospital etc.

The invention is related to the opening and closing of the traffic device according to its usage and aim by means of the opening and closing apparatus thereon, and the application of the system to different traffic devices such as posts, delineator and cones with a coupling apparatus. The invention has been developed to provide a safe zone following traffic accidents; therefore the invention cannot prevent possible accidents.

An invention according to the known state of the art is the utility model titled“Katlanabilir reflector (Foldable reflector)” numbered 2013/04002. The invention is a foldable reflector that is designed to warn and distract vehicles that are travelling and on land, by mounting said reflectors the suitable places in the front, back, right and left sides of vehicles such as mirrors; and to be used in all kinds of agricultural vehicles that necessitate the usage of warning and safety in areas in order for said reflectors to be noticed at night, and to be used in agricultural vehicles and other vehicles on highways or traffic: it comprises a hinge, pin, pin slot, crystal glass, main body; wherein the crystal glass is mounted to the body. The hinge and the main body are coupled to each other by inserting a pin to the pin body, and this enables the forward and backward folding of the reflector.

As the invention has been developed to establish a safety zone following traffic accidents, it does not prevent possible accidents.

In road vehicles, when the driver and/or passengers want to climb out of the car and they open their doors, the drivers or riders of other motor, electric vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles who have been travelling behind said vehicles/or coming from the opposite direction and who are not aware that the door is open or is going to be opened, usually accidents occur which may lead to financial damage, injuries or even death. When we look at the statistics globally, bike or motorbike riders have fatal injuries or they lose their lives in such accidents. In order to prevent accidents such as crashing into open doors, people climbing out of cars etc, a system/product has not been developed or provided in the prior art.

In road vehicles whose exemplary view and embodiment drawings have been given in the attached pages, the luminous and/or audio warning signal that warns other vehicles drivers that the doors will be opening and/or that the doors have opened, have been illustrated as a drawing. Said warning signal can be formed of different sizes or shapes and therefore it should not be limited to the embodiments described herein. Description of the Invention
