The present invention prevents a segment holder from coming apart and prevents a tapered roller from falling out of a pocket in a segment, even if an inner ring assembly is reversed when the inner ring assembly is incorporated into an outer ring. Provided is a tapered roller bearing which employs a segment holder that is divided into a plurality of segments 20 in the circumferential direction and that is incorporated, in the state of an inner ring assembly, into an outer ring 12, wherein: guide claws 24 are provided on the outer diameter sides of adjacent pillar parts 23 of pockets 16 of a holder 17 so that tapered rollers 15 can be inserted in the pockets 16 from the inner diameter sides of the segments 20; engagement parts 27 are provided on large-diameter-side side surfaces of large-diameter-side arc-like parts 22 of the segments 20; a coupling member 25 which is wound on the large-diameter-sides of the segments 20 that are disposed annularly passes through the engagement parts 27; and the end parts of the coupling member 25 are removably coupled to each other by a fastening member 30 so that adjacent segments 20 abut on each other and are fixed.
