The present invention is configured such that when incorporating an inner-ring assembly into an outer ring, segments in a segment holder do not come apart even if the inner-ring assembly is reversed, and tapered rollers are prevented from falling off from pockets of the segments. Segments (20) each have a comb-shaped pocket (16A) that opens at the larger diameter side and a cage-shaped pocket (16B). Columnar sections (23) facing the respective comb-shaped pockets (16A) are provided with a guide pawl (24) on both the outer diameter side and the inner diameter side thereof such that tapered rollers (15) can be inserted from the opening on the larger diameter side. The columnar sections (23) facing the respective cage-shaped pockets (16B) are provided with the guide pawl (24) on the outer diameter side such that the tapered rollers (15) can be inserted from the inner diameter side. A connection member (25), which is wound on the larger diameter side of the segments (20) arranged in a ring shape, is passed through an engagement part (27) of the larger-diameter-side side surfaces of the larger diameter-side arcuate sections (22) of the segments (20). The end sections of this connection member (25) are detachably connected together by a fastening member (30) such that adjacent segments (20) abut and are fixed to each other.
