Abstract:
Provided is a tapered roller bearing having a structure such that when incorporating an inner ring assembly into an outer ring, even if the inner ring assembly is reversed, segments in a segment holder will not scatter, and tapered rollers will not fall out of pockets in the segments. The pockets 16 positioned at the ends in the circumferential direction among the pockets 16 respectively accommodating the tapered rollers 15 , are provided with guide claws 24 on the outer diameter side of opposing column sections such that the respective tapered rollers 15 can be inserted from the inner diameter side. The pockets 16 positioned at the ends in the circumferential direction are provided with guide claws 24 on the inner diameter side of the opposing column sections 23 such that the respective tapered rollers 15 can be inserted from the outer diameter side. Fall prevention members 32, which prevent the tapered rollers 15 respectively accommodated in the pockets 16 at both ends from falling to the outer diameter side, are provided so as to be able to be inserted and removed from the large-end-surface side of an inner ring 11. A connection member 25 to be wound around the large diameter side of each of the segments 20 arranged in a ring shape is passed through engagement parts 27 on the large-diameter-side side surface of a large-diameter-side arcuate section 22 of each of the segments 20, and is fixed thereto.
