Abstract:

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a reject message associated with an area update or attach procedure, wherein the reject message identifies at least one of a frequency or an area identifier; and selectively bar a cell associated with a base station from which the reject message is received, or bar at least one of the frequency or the area identifier, based at least in part on whether a security context is activated with regard to the base station.
