Title:
TECHNOLOGY FOR EFFICIENT ACTIVATION OF NKT CELLS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/188033
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for activating NKT cells and thus proliferating the NKT cells, producing IFN-γ and/or producing NKT cell ligand-pulsed human CD14-positive cells capable of strongly inducing cytotoxic activity. More specifically, this method is characterized by comprising culturing isolated CD14-positive cells in a medium that contains an NKT cell ligand and GM-CSF but substantially does not contain IL-4. Further, the present invention relates to a method for producing an NKT cell ligand-pulsed human CD14-positive cell line. More specifically, the method is characterized by comprising culturing isolated CD14-positive cells in a medium that contains an NKT cell ligand but substantially does not contain GM-CSF and IL-4. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a cell preparation comprising NKT cell ligand-pulsed human CD14-positive cells or an NKT cell ligand-pulsed human CD14-positive cell line and a pharmaceutical use of said cell preparation.
