Abstract:
A temperature protection device of the present invention is provided with temperature detection devices (15, 18) for detecting the temperatures of respective switching elements (14, 17), and control devices (20-36, 40-55, 60-69, 70-76, 86-99) for controlling the switching elements. The control devices stop driving of any first switching element, from among a plurality of the switching elements, when the temperature of the first switching element rises to an overheat detection temperature, and resumes driving of the first switching element when the temperature lowers to a return temperature. The control devices control the timing for resuming driving of the first switching element such that a drive stop time, from when driving is stopped due to overheating until when driving is resumed, is longer in a case where, at a point in time where the temperature of the first switching element reaches the overheat detection temperature, at least one of the switching elements excluding the first switching element is in a high-load state with a higher load than a low-load state, than a case where all of the switching elements excluding the first switching element are in a low-load state.
