A temperature-sensitive pellet-type thermal fuse (10) comprises: an electroconductive envelope (11) that has an opening at a first end thereof; a temperature-sensitive device that is accommodated within the envelope and that thermally responds at a predetermined temperature; a first lead (14) that is attached to the opening of the envelope so as to be electrically insulated from the envelope, and that has a fixed contact (13); a second lead (15) that is connected to a second end of the envelope; a movable contact (16) that is accommodated in the envelope and that is pressed by the temperature-sensitive device so as to abut the fixed contact; and a weak compression spring (17) that is accommodated in the envelope and that presses the movable contact in a direction away from the fixed contact. The temperature-sensitive device comprises: a cylindrical case (100) that has at least an opening end on the first lead side; a temperature-sensitive material (101) that is accommodated in the cylindrical case and that melts at a predetermined operation temperature; and a strong compression spring (102) that presses the temperature-sensitive material and brings the fixed contact (13) into contact with the movable contact (16).
