Abstract:
Provided is a thermal transfer sheet which exhibits good printing performance and still provides a printed material that has excellent resistance to boiling.
A thermal transfer sheet which is obtained by sequentially providing one surface of a base with at least a transferable protective layer and a transferable coloring layer in this order and by providing the other surface of the base with a back surface layer. The transferable protective layer contains, as a main component, a cyclic olefin polymer having a glass transition temperature of 100°C or more and additionally contains a resin that is incompatible with the cyclic olefin polymer. The transferable coloring layer contains a coloring agent and a phenolic resin having a softening point of 100°C or more.
