Abstract:
A water paint composition of resin dispersion type which shows a good workability in painting and particularly can give a coat having high luster and high smoothness, and which is extremely useful as top coat for automobiles. This paint composition is obtained by adding a compound represented by general formula (I) or (II), as a curing catalyst in an amount of 0.1 to 10 wt % based on the total solid content to a system containing an aqueous medium, a water resin, a hydrophobic resin powder or liquid resin particles composed of a hydrophobic resin and an organic solvent, and a curing agent.
