Abstract:
Provided is a thermostat device with which it is possible to achieve smooth flow of a coolant so as to minimize pressure loss and to ensure an adequate flow rate of the coolant flowing from the radiator side toward the engine side. The thermostat device comprises: a housing 3 provided with a first inlet through which coolant cooled by a radiator is introduced and an outlet 4c through which the coolant is supplied to an internal combustion engine; a thermo-element 2a which is housed within the housing 3 and which is moved in an axial direction, depending on the temperature of the coolant; and a control valve 2c which, in conjunction with the axial movement of the thermo-element 2a, controls the amount of the coolant to be introduced through the first inlet. In an exit-side pipe line 3c extending from a valve seat 5c, which is inside the housing 3 and with which the control valve comes into contact in a valve-closed state, toward the outlet 4c of the coolant, a slope 4i rising from the outlet 4c side toward the valve seat 5c side, is provided.
