Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a thickness detection device having: a reference roller that is rotatable in a reference roller take-in direction in which a medium is taken in a medium transaction device and in a reference roller discharge direction in which the medium is discharged to the outside of the medium transaction device; a sensing roller that is disposed so as to face the reference roller and is rotatable in a sensing roller take-in direction in which the medium is taken in the medium transaction device and in a sensing roller discharge direction in which the medium is discharged to the outside of the medium transaction device, the medium being sandwiched between the sensing roller and the reference roller; a displacement detection unit for detecting displacement of the sensing roller; and a foreign substance removal member that is in contact with surfaces of the reference roller and the sensing roller in such a manner that a foreign substance removal rate in the reference roller take-in direction and the sensing roller take-in direction is higher than that in the reference roller discharge direction and the sensing roller discharge direction.
