Abstract:
In this three-dimensional data encoding method: a predicted residual, which is the difference between information relating to a three-dimensional point included in point group data and a predicted value is calculated (S10861); and a bit stream including first information representing the predicted residual, second information representing the number of bits in the first information, and third information representing the number of bits in the second information is generated (S10862). For example, information relating to the three-dimensional point may be position information of three-dimensional points, and in the predicted residual calculation (S10861), the predicted value may be calculated using a prediction tree representing a reference relationship.
