Abstract:
The disclosed three-dimensional display system and three-dimensional viewing glasses enable the viewer to see a three-dimensional image, even while the head of the viewer is titled, reducing fatigue. The three-dimensional display system has: an image display device which displays a left-eye image and a right-eye image for three-dimensional viewing; three-dimensional viewing glasses which are worn by the viewer in order to three-dimensionally view the image displayed by the image display device; and a tilt measurement apparatus which measures the inclination of a straight line which connects both eyes of the viewer relative to a reference direction. The three-dimensional viewing glasses have: an optical axis modification apparatus which allows the light which should enter one of the eyes of the viewer to pass, and which modifies the direction of the optical axis on the incoming side and the optical axis on the outgoing side; and a control unit which modifies at least one of the directions among the optical axis on the incoming side and the optical axis on the outgoing side of the optical axis modification apparatus in response to the inclination measured by the tilt measurement apparatus so as to reduce the influence of the inclination of the aforementioned straight line on the visibility of the image.
