Abstract:
Provided are a method and a device with which it is possible to quickly and with high precision analyze the sulfur concentration of a metal sample by burning a metal sample containing a sulfur component in a pure oxygen gas atmosphere and oxidizing the sulfur component to produce sulfur dioxide, and then analyzing the resulting gas containing sulfur dioxide by means of the ultraviolet fluorescence method, and quantitatively determining the sulfur content of the metal sample.
