Disclosed are a three-dimensional gesture unlocking method, a method for acquiring a gesture image, and a terminal device. The three-dimensional gesture unlocking method comprises: acquiring a current gesture image of a user; acquiring, according to the current gesture image, contour data of a current gesture in the current gesture image; determining, according to the contour data of the current gesture, fingertip pixel dots of the current gesture and/or finger pixel dots of the current gesture; determining, according to the fingertip pixel dots of the current gesture and/or the finger pixel dots of the current gesture, feature data of the current gesture; and when the feature data of the current gesture successfully matches feature data of a pre-set gesture, unlocking the terminal device. The three-dimensional gesture unlocking method in the embodiment of the present application provides the user with a brand new way of unlocking with a high level of interest, high accuracy and good rapidity.
