Abstract:
This thrust foil bearing (3) is provided with a baseplate (30) which has an insertion hole (30a) through which a rotation shaft (1) is inserted, back foils (20) which are arranged around the insertion hole (30a) and which are supported by the base plate (30), and top foils (10) which are supported on the back foils (20). The top foils (10) have an extension (13) which, farthest downstream in the direction of rotation of the rotation shaft (1), is supported by the back foil (10) and which has a width in the direction of an imaginary straight line that decreases along the normal of the imaginary straight line.
