Abstract:
This time calculation device comprises a first counting unit (4) that counts the number of pulses included in a second square wave having a different frequency from a first square wave during the period from the start of the output of the second square wave until the point in time when it is possible that the rise of the pulses included in the first square wave coincides with the rise of the pulses included in the second square wave and a second counting unit (8) that counts the number of pulses included in the second square wave during a coincidence possibility period from the point in time when it is possible that the rise of the pulses included in the first square wave coincides with the rise of the pulses included in the second square wave until the point in time when the rise of the pulses included in the first square wave does not coincide with the rise of the pulses included in the second square wave. Further, the time calculation device comprises a time calculation unit (12) that uses the number of pulses counted by the first counting unit (4) and the number of pulses counted by the second counting unit (8) to calculate the time required, from the start of the output of the second square wave, for the rise of the pulses included in the first square wave to coincide with the rise of the pulses included in the second square wave.
