The purpose of the present invention is to provide a technology for properly connecting a partner-side connection section of a terminal of a heat shrink tubing-provided wire to a connection site. A tool 40 for installing heat shrink tubing comprises: a terminal retainer 50 that holds a flat partner-side connection section 22 of a terminal 20; a mount 53 on which an end section 32 of a heat shrink tube 30 is mounted, said end section 32 being the end nearer the partner-side connection section 22; and a wire retainer 80 that holds a wire 12. The end section 32 of the heat shrink tube 30 is sandwiched between the mount 53 and a base section 25a of the terminal 20, which is held by the terminal retainer 50 and has the wire disposed thereon. The mounting surface 53S of the mount 53 on which the end section 32 of the heat shrink tube 30 is mounted is positioned higher than the bottom surface of the partner-side connection section 22 of the terminal 20 held by the terminal retainer 50.
