Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a structure for a tool-edge exchangeable drill body that is, as a whole, not readily bent and to do so without reducing cutting waste dischargeability, and to provide a tool-edge exchangeable drill using such body. Provided is a tool-edge exchangeable drill body that uses two cutting inserts (21, 22), wherein in correspondence with the two cutting inserts, two cutting waste discharge grooves (11, 12) and two lands (31, 32) are formed in a body (10). When viewing a cross section in a base end-side portion of the body (10), circumferential direction lengths (L1, L2) of a drill (10) of the two lands (31, 32) are both less than 1/2 of the circumference of the drill (10), and the circumferential direction length (L2) of one of the lands (32) is greater than the circumferential direction length (L1) of the other land (31). By configuring in this manner, in either direction, uniform and preferable bending strength can be imparted to the greatest extent possible.
