Abstract:
A toothbrush is constructed such that the base end portion of a head segment is connected to the tip end portion of a handle segment by a pivot shaft and that a slide member for securedly connecting the base end portion to the tip end portion is mounted by the pivot shaft so as to be slidable relative to the tip end portion and is adapted to slide to make adjustable an angle at which the head segment is bent relative to the handle segment. The base end portion includes a pair of connecting portions which are disposed on the opposite sides of the tip end portion of the handle segment and are connected to the tip end portion by the pivot shaft and in which inclined slots are provided closer to a bristle section than to the pivot shaft. The handle segment has a guide groove, by which the slide member is guided. The slide member comprises a base body having a slot, through which the pivot shaft is inserted, and adapted to be slidably fitted in the guide groove, said base body being provided at the opposite sides of the tip end portion closer to the head segment with a pair of fitting projections which are adapted to be slidably fitted in the inclined slots, and an operating plate fixed to the base body.
