Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a toothbrush that has an excellent performance of cleaning the tooth cervix while imparting a gentle massage sensation to the gum over a wide range. This invention is equipped with a handle body (2) provided at the tip with a head (4). Bundles of bristles are implanted into a plurality of bristle-implanting holes formed on a bristle implantation surface (5) of the head. The bristle implantation surface has: an inside bristle implantation region (11) in which a plurality of inside bristle bundles are implanted at substantially the center in the width direction perpendicular to the axial line (O) of the handle body, said bundles being provided parallel to the axial line (O); and an outside bristle implantation region (21) in which a plurality of outside bristle bundles are implanted so as to sandwich the inside bristle bundles in the width direction. The maximum widthwise length L of the entire bristle implantation region, in which the plurality of inside bristle bundles and the plurality of outside bristle bundles are implanted, is 12.0-16.0 mm. The maximum length of the outside bristle implantation region in the width direction is 6.5-9.5 mm. The maximum length of the inside bristle implantation region in the width direction is 4.0-5.5 mm. The bristle bundle radius of the outside bristle bundles is 1.4-1.8 mm, and the bristle bundle radius of the inside bristle bundles is 1.0-1.4 mm.
