Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a topical composition that comprises both salicylic acid and allantoin, and is useful for the amelioration of acne vulgaris. A topical composition for the amelioration of acne vulgaris, said topical composition including: (a) salicylic acid; (b) at least one substance selected from the group consisting of allantoin, derivatives thereof, and salts of allantoin and the derivatives; (c) ethanol; and (d) a polyhydric alcohol.
