Abstract:
A torque converter lock-up device whereby external leaking of tooth impact noise in a torque transmission section of a clutch unit can be suppressed. This device comprises a clutch disc (28), a piston (30), a cover plate (41), and a support boss (40). The clutch disc (28) is arranged between a front cover (2) and a turbine (4). The piston (30) is arranged between the front cover (2) and the turbine (4). The cover plate (41) is arranged between the piston (30) and the turbine (4) and has a torque transmission section (41c) that transmits torque to the clutch disc (28), in an outer peripheral section thereof. The support boss (40) is fixed to an inner peripheral section of the front cover (2) and has: a piston support section (40b) that slidably supports an inner peripheral end surface of the piston (30); and a welded section (40c) having the inner peripheral section of the cover plate (41) welded thereto.
