Title:
TRACK MONITORING EQUIPMENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/108676
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Optical inspection equipment (10) is mounted on the underside of a railway vehicle body (14) supported by bogies (18). The equipment is supported by a variable-length suspension incorporating linear actuators (40-42) so that the equipment can be moved horizontally or vertically and can be subjected to roll motion. These are actuated to compensate for low-frequency displacements and roll of the vehicle body (14) below a preset frequency to hold the optical inspection equipment at a generally constant position relative to the rails (35).
