The objective of the present invention is to provide a train control device that effectively uses communication channels without interrupting communication. This train control device comprises: a vehicle base station (206) mounted in a train; a base station A (203) and a base station B (204) capable of communicating with the vehicle base station (206); a vehicle control device (205) that performs operational control whereby the train can be stopped prior to a stopping limit (209), that is, the limit position to which the train can be safely driven; and ground control devices (201, 202), which transmit to the train the stopping limit (209), which has been calculated on the basis of current position information obtained from the train through the base station A (203) and the base station B (204) and on the basis of open route information from a ground branching device. When the base station with which the vehicle base station (206) is communicating is switched, the vehicle control device (205) calculates a channel reservation start pattern (207) which determines the start position for a reservation of a communication channel with the base station to which communication is being switched, with the aforementioned reservation start position differing according to speed of the train and the position of the train.
