Abstract:
In a train position determining device (2), overhead cameras (21, 23) are installed in overhead positions in which, if a train (1) has stopped in a prescribed position in a station, end portions of a linear shadow generated between a leading carriage (11) of the train (1) or a terminal carriage, which is a rearmost carriage (13), and the platform, within the linear shadow generated between the train (1) and the platform, are included in the imaging zones of the overhead cameras (21, 23). Meanwhile, a processing device (200) determines whether the linear shadow is included in images captured by the overhead cameras (21, 23). Then, if the determination is in the affirmative, the relative position of the train (1) with respect to the prescribed position is determined on the basis of the positions of the end portions of the linear shadow.
