Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to use the measurement results for the number of persons on a portion of the train station platform according to a sensor, such as a monitoring camera installed in a prescribed location of the train station platform, to estimate the number of persons on the train station platform including those outside the measurement range of the sensor. To solve the problem, provided is a train station congestion prediction device comprising: a storage unit which stores time period-specific probability distribution information which represents wait locations of passengers on the train station platform with a probability distribution for each time period; and a computation processing unit which executes a process of acquiring number of persons information of the passengers waiting at a prescribed location on the train station platform from a measurement device installed in the train station, a process of searching for the probability distribution for the wait locations of the passengers at the time whereat the number of persons information is measured from the time period-specific probability distribution information, and a process of finding the wait probability of the passengers at the prescribed location from the probability distribution for the wait locations of the passengers and predicting the number of passengers waiting at other locations on the train station platform using the number of persons information.
