Abstract:
Provided is a transfer device for articles, which can reduce the time required for transfer operation and improve equipment efficiency. The present invention comprises a suction pad 3 capable of sucking and releasing an article W, and a transfer robot (transfer means) 2 capable of accelerating/moving and decelerating/stopping the suction pad 3 in any three-dimensional direction. The transfer robot 2 supports the suction pad 3 in such a manner that the suction direction V of the suction pad 3 can be displaced. When accelerating/moving the suction pad 3, on which the article W is sucked, in a direction different from the direction of suction by the suction pad 3, the inertia force caused by the acceleration/movement operation of the suction pad 3 causes the article W to tilt in the acceleration/movement direction, and at the same time, displaces the suction pad 3 so that the suction direction V of the suction pad 3 tilts toward the acceleration/movement direction.
