Abstract:
This transit monitoring system comprises: an RF tag that is carried by a user and has unique tag identification information; N, where N is two or more, reader/writers that have unique reader/writer identification information and are aligned in the transit direction of a passage provided with transit lanes consisting of a first lane and second lane; a reception intensity measurement unit for measuring the reception intensities of inquiry radio waves received by the RF tag from the reader/writers; a lane determination unit for determining whether the user is in the first lane and whether the user is in the second lane on the basis of the tag identification information, reader/writer identification information, and reception intensities for each inquiry radio wave received by the RF tag during a prescribed lane determination period; and a meandering determination unit for determining that a user has meandered through the passage if the number of lane changes of the user from the first lane or second lane to the other lane during a prescribed meandering determination period is greater than or equal to a meandering threshold.
