Abstract:
To reduce the processing load on the reception side when transmitting a plurality of types of audio data. A metafile having meta-information for acquiring, at a reception device, a prescribed number of audio streams that contain a plurality of groups of encoded data is transmitted. Attribute information indicating the respective attributes of the plurality of groups of encoded data is inserted in the metafile. For example, stream correspondence relationship information indicating which audio stream each of the plurality of groups of encoded data is included in is further inserted into the metafile.
