A transmission mechanism (200) for a battery transfer apparatus. A battery rack (2) is provided with a guide mechanism arranged in the vertical direction. The transmission mechanism (200) is used for driving a battery taking and placing mechanism (100) to vertically ascend and descend along the guide mechanism. The transmission mechanism (200) comprises a driving wheel (210), a transition wheel (220), and a transmission belt (230) having two ends fixed on the guide mechanism in the vertical direction, wherein the driving wheel (210) and the transition wheel (220) are arranged on the battery taking and placing mechanism (100); the transmission belt (230) passes through between the driving wheel (210) and the transition wheel (220), and the two ends of the transmission belt (230) are fixedly connected to the guide mechanism; and the driving wheel (210) arranged on the battery taking and placing mechanism (100) and the transmission belt (230) move relative to each other, thereby driving the battery taking and placing mechanism (100) to ascend and descend. The lifting height of the battery taking and placing mechanism (100) can be adjusted by means of changing the length of the transmission belt (230), and the transmission mechanism (200) has a simple structure, high flexibility and wide application range. The present invention further relates to a battery transfer apparatus, a battery transfer system and a battery swapping station or an energy storage station.
